On my Mind

How about more happy?
If you have read my previous posts you'll remember me talking about my friends. Another friend is going in for some major surgery come May, and I wanted to send her some cheer before she has the surgery.
I picked this pretty Gina K stamp to colour up as I thought it would be perfect in this arch die.
Using Fabriano hot press watercolour paper, in my mini Misti I stamped the image using jet black ink. I proceeded to water colour using Zig Clean Colour Brushes and my Escoda paint brush. I find my brush gives me more control than an aqua brush, but using what is comfortable is key. My routine for painting smaller flowers is to paint wet on wet. So, I dampen the flower, then drop in the colour. You can do several layers working this way, until you are happy with the look.
I was happy with the clean look of the image so once dry I die cut it with the arch die. I knew I wanted to use yellow to frame the image, so I cut the stitched rectangle along with the arch in the yellow paper, leaving enough room at the bottom to stamp my sentiment, which I stamped using the jet black ink again. I then die cut a piece of fun foam the same way and attached it to the back of the yellow card stock, then attached the panel to my card base using double sided tape. Adding tape to my image I then dropped it in and pressed it down to secure the piece. And, to finish a few gumdrops.
I think this will have my friend smiling, I hope it gives you a smile too.
Thank you for visiting my blog.
