Just for you

I am into my wishful thinking mode again. Snow in my neck of the woods, but I am thinking flowers. 😊

For this card I was playing along with the colour challenge at Splitcoaststampers, which are the pink, yellow/citrus and the blue. I decided to go with the dark background, something different for me. I used Prussian Blue for my background, heat dried, then added Cobalt Blue. I die cut the panel using my deckled rectangle, which I love with this background, then added white acrylic paint splatters, and once dry I attached it to my card base.

To stamp the floral image, in my Misti, I coloured with distress markers the corresponding colour, i.e. the petals in pink, the stem in green, etc. Once I finished that, I added further colour by tracing the image with the markers as I was going to be heat embossing with clear embossing powder. I then painted the image with the distress marker colours, and added further colours with my Zig Brushes. I then die cut the image with the coordinating die, styled it slightly with my stylus and attached using foam tape. For the sentiment, again in my Misti, I stamped the sentiment with cobalt ink, making several passes due to the deep colour. I then die cut the sentiment with the label die and attached with foam tape. To complete my card I added a few sequins in pink and clear.
This is a closeup of my finished card.

  1. I love your watercolored wash background for your beautifully colored and die cut flowers. We have no snow, but rain off and on. On the off days, we have been busy with early Spring cleanup outside..yes, I mentioned the word Spring:-) We have plenty of daffodils and day lilies popping up and leaf buds swelling everywhere. Spring is just around the corner in the North West :-) TFS your gorgeous flower design to remind us of Spring. Hugs..
