Hearts Day

Hearts Day for a male friend. I don't mind giving my female friends Valentine cards with pinks and reds, but for some reason, it does not work for me when it is a male friend. I guess I am biased, oh dear!

I wanted to make my friend a fun Valentine card. He likes my cards and loves the fun colours I use, so I think he will like this card. I did the Acetate Inking technique for this card, using distress inks. I wanted a horizontal pattern for the background as I thought it would look great with my splattered heart. I used lemonade, fossilized amber, and spiced marmalade for the background. Once the background was dry I die cut using my deckled rectangle then stamped the heart using ripe persimmon distress ink. For added texture and some shine I stamped again with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I attached the panel using foam tape, which as you know is one of my favourite things to do with my card panels. I then stamped the sentiment and die cut it with one of my new favourite label dies. I love how it looks, and especially with the deckled rectangle die.

To finish I added some jewel drops in lemon and orange colours.
