Joy Snowfall

The inspiration challenge at Splitcoaststampers took us to a fun site to have a look at and get some inspiration. I am in Christmas mode, so I looked for inspiration for a Christmas card and found it in these shoes:
Let me say first, I would never wear a pair of these shoes, even in my younger days, but they sure are pretty to look at. To get the sparkle, I first heat embossed my image using Tim Holtz Distress Powder, then added the watercolour background. Once dry I painted the snowflakes and snowflake dust with Wink of Stella and added the matting before attaching to my card base. To finish I added the sentiment cut in glitter green paper and a few very pretty sparkly sequins. A non-traditional Christmas card for that non-traditional friend.
Products: Deep Red Snowflake Background, CottageCutz Joy, Tim Holtz Distress Powder, Zig Watercolour Brushes, Wink of Stella Brush, Sequins, Neenah Cardstock, Paper Garden Papers, Glitter Paper.

  1. What a truly beautiful card and one that was perfectly inspired by the glittery shoe. I love the soft colors and how the "joy" just sparkles amidst your snowflakes. Hugs, sweet friend!
