Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

Anyone interested in a little sunshine? When I saw last week that the challenge for today's Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoaststampers was to use a sun in our design, I was a bit stumped as I don't have any sun stamps, nor dies! I have no idea why either. So I thought I would use a flower for my sun, and I had the perfect flower to use. I heat embossed my sunflower with gold embossing powder. Before heat embossing I broke the tip join in a few of the sunflowers to get that open feel. I then painted using my Kuretake Zig Clean Color Brushes, adding colours to the centre to get that intense heat of the sun look. I heat embossed my sentiment on my photo frame and  attached using foam strips, and added a flourish die to the side which is to represent the dance the earth does when the sun reaches it. A few sequins in gold and a touch of blue finished my card. I had a lot of fun doing this card and I hope you enjoy it as well.

  3. Gorgeous card Kia. Love this design. Your sunflower (sun) is so beautiful with the gold embossing. And I love how you'd broken the tip on a few of the petals. So creative. The sun's colours are so gorgeous, especially paired with the gorgeous blue sky. Beautiful design. xx
