Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

Anyone interested in a little sunshine? When I saw last week that the challenge for today's Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoaststampers was to use a sun in our design, I was a bit stumped as I don't have any sun stamps, nor dies! I have no idea why either. So I thought I would use a flower for my sun, and I had the perfect flower to use. I heat embossed my sunflower with gold embossing powder. Before heat embossing I broke the tip join in a few of the sunflowers to get that open feel. I then painted using my Kuretake Zig Clean Color Brushes, adding colours to the centre to get that intense heat of the sun look. I heat embossed my sentiment on my photo frame and  attached using foam strips, and added a flourish die to the side which is to represent the dance the earth does when the sun reaches it. A few sequins in gold and a touch of blue finished my card. I had a lot of fun doing this card and I hope you enjoy it as well.

  1. Love this card Kia. The colors are amazing and the gold embossing adds sparkle to the sun.

  2. Gorgeous card Kia and so clever how you used your sunflower to represent the sun. Perfect sentiment too. I see you have already mastered the Zig Markers :-) I LOVE mine too! TFS my friend. Hugs, nancy

  3. Gorgeous card Kia. Love this design. Your sunflower (sun) is so beautiful with the gold embossing. And I love how you'd broken the tip on a few of the petals. So creative. The sun's colours are so gorgeous, especially paired with the gorgeous blue sky. Beautiful design. xx

  4. Oh, Kia, I saw this on SCS and LOVE it! The colors are gorgeous, and I truly love how you've used this sunflower as you sun for the challenge! Beautifully done, and I love the sentiment! Hugs, sweet friend!
