Beautiful Day

Meet "Beautiful Day".

It has been many years since I last used this stamp set, the stunning Altenew set called Beautiful Day. This set brings back some wonderful memories for me.

Eight years ago in January would have been the anniversary of my trip to Arizona with the Misti Design Team, all thanks to Lydia at Splitcoaststampers who asked me to be on the team!

To this day I gulp! We met the team from Altenew at that show, and yes, I came home with a LOT of stamp and die sets and today I decided I would paint up my favourite set called Beautiful Day.

Using Daniel Smith watercolours I proceeded to watercolour the two flowers that I stamped using Distress Ink in Antique Linen.

I picked Quinacridone Pink for my florals today and decided I would keep the floral light with a few bits of deep colour. Painting this was so relaxing, something I have loved doing on some of the cards I make.

Once I finised the watercolouring I die cut the flowers using the coordinating dies. I also stamped the leaves using some of the brushed leaves and the regular leaves which I stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.

I die cut the leaves using the coordinating dies as well. I then added black pearls which I coloured last night knowing I would need them.

Finishing the inside of the card I stamped another one of the sentiments from the set and heat set using white embossing powder on Gina K Designs Black Onyx cardstock.

I added another floral piece from the Beautiful Day set.

Thank you for visiting with me today. I do hope you have enjoyed this card. It sure was fun for me to go back and paint it up after all these years.

See you next time.
