Hummingbird

I made this card for today's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com where we visited Bradford Exchange. When I saw the Hummingbird I stopped looking!

I had this digital image in my directory that I had not coloured up as of yet, so I printed it out on a piece of 5.25" Hammermill cardstock and began to colour using Copic markers.

I really got into colouring this image and ended up using a lot of markers. I did the bird first, so I will start there. YR0000, YR00, YR02; RV10, RV11, RV13, RV14; YG13, YG17; YG23; BG10, BG11, BG13, ; BG32 and BG45; E70, E71; Y08 and E49.

I added highlights on the flowers and bird using a white gel pen and added gold splatters to the background with my Wink of Stella gold pen.

I then stamped the sentiments which are from an old Picket Fence stamp set called Pretty Birds, using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.

For the inside of my card I stamped a floral image on a scrap piece of Hammermill and cut it out to add more texture to the inside then splattered this piece with the gold splatters.

To finish up my card I had to look up the colour of Hummingbirds claws and was very surprised to find out the are a very dark brown, almost black colour!

So, I coloured in the claws using Copic E49, which is a very dark brown colour.

I then coloured the flower for the inside of my card, and stamped the sentiment using the Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.

Thanks so much for visiting with me today. I do hope you have enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it.
