The Rose

This is "The Rose".

This is for today's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. I am hostess for this challenge and have picked Notebook Therapy for our Inspiration site. My Inspration came from these roses.
The stamp set I have used for this card is by Alex Syberia and called Midnight Blooms. This is a beautiful set that I have used for every day, but it also comes with Christmas sentiments.

I painted using the no line watercolouring technique, along with Daniel Smith watercolours in Hansa Yellow, Quinacridone Pink, and Schmincke watercolours in Scarlet Red, Sap Green and Green Apatite.
I then die cut the flower, and decided I did not want any edge so I fussy cut the balance of the overhang off the edges.

For the background I used the stars that are included in the stamp set, stamping with watermark ink and heat embossing with gold embossing powder on a die cut circle.
I glued the circle die to the card front using Art Glitter glue, then added the flower using foam tape to prop it up from the stars.

I also heat embossed the sentiment, which comes with the stamp set using the same embossing powder by Brutus Monroe and propped it up with foam strips as well.
For the inside of the card I cut a piece of cardstock 4x5.25 which I stamped and heat emboss using the Brutus Monroe powder in two corners of the card piece.

On a smaller circle die cut matching the front, I stamped the sentiment saying "Today is a New Day".

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you have enjoyed this card.
