Robin

It is time for watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers.com, and this week we are painting Robin's. The video for this challenge can be found here.

I opted for a more refined but sweet Robin. I added a bit of blue as my card is going overseas to family, hence a nod to the European Robins.
I am painting on Arches cold press watercolour paper using Daniel Smith watercolours and Escoda brushes in a #2 and #6.

My colours are Hansa Yellow, Quinacridone Burnt Orange, Quinacridone Burnt Scarlet, Burnt Umber, Neutral Tint, Cerulean Blue, Rose of Ultramarine and Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleedproof White.
I painted wet on wet, which I find easier to do then wet on dry. I love watching how the paints react when using this technique.

I did some splatters while the piece was still wet, then set it aside to dry completely under a few weights and added further splatters once all was dry.

Once all was good and dry I attached the piece to a brown cardstock from Gina K Design using Art Glitter glue.

For the inside I added a piece of designer brown plaid paper, then a piece of white which I stamped the sentiment to using VersaFine Clair ink in Pinecone.
Thank you for your visit today. I hope you have enjoyed my Robin painting.

See you next time.
