Rose Ice Cream

This is "Treat yourself".

I have to say I absolutely love this set by Gina K Designs called "Treat Yourself". There are other floral options as well as the roses that I picked to work with.

I did this card as my sample for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. My inspiration came from these plates, which so reminded me of ice cream, and that had me thinking of this stamp set.

First up using my Misti I stamped the roses using Memento Ink in Rbubarb Stalk. For the cone I stamped using Memento Rich Cocoa.

I then proceed to colour using Copic markers; for the Roses I used RV13, RV14 and RV23; the Cone is E13, E15 and RV21.

I then fussy cut the two pieces out. For the first time I used my Tim Holtz scissors to fussy cut and wow, was I ever impressed. My hands were not killing me after cutting, that is a first!

For my background I ran the Altenew Flower Bed embossing folder through my new machine, which is an Empress from Anna Griffin. There are not a lot of places it is sold, with the online shopping channels being the only ones I know of.

I am so impressed with this machine and so happy I took the plunge. I have kept my Gemini Jr. as I foil with that machine, but for die cutting and the like I use the Empress. Here is the link where you can find the review of the Empress by Jennifer McGuire.

I attached the embossed piece to my card base, then styled and attached the Roses and Cone using foam squares. In my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment using Memento Ink in Pear Tart. Before attaching the roses I stamped on the leaves using Memento Ink in Bamboo Leaves.

I finished with a few Ballet Slipper gems from Pinkfresh Studios.

Thank you for joining me today.

See you next time.
