Seas the Day

This is "Seas the Day".

When I saw this stamp and die set in the Scrap'n Stamp store it was one of those, have to have sets. It has birds after all!
The set is called Seas the Day stamp and die set by Colorado Craft Company. The stencil I used in my background is Making Waves by Gina K Designs.

Using Neenah cardstock I first did the smooshing technique using Mermaid Lagoon and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks. Once dry I secured the stencil in place over my background, and using Blueprint Distress Oxide ink along with domed foam ink blending tool, I pounced lightly adding the ink to the card piece.
It does not take long for the piece to be covered, and I really like the texture and look it adds to my finished background.

While I had the tools out I did a second piece, this time using Hammermill cardstock for the inside of my card. Again, I used the Gina K Design stencil along with Blueprint Sketch distress oxide ink. I also stamped my sentiment inside the card.

In my mini Misti I stamped the images included in the stamp set using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black ink. With Copic markers I coloured the stamped pieces: Birds: B000, B41, B26 and Y13, R17 on the beaks. The posts are done using E42, E47, and Y19, and C1 and C00 on both of the Starfish along with B26 dots.

I then die cut the pieces using the coordinating die set. In putting the card together, I attached the background using Art Glitter glue. I then attached the inside piece, again using the Art Glitter glue.

To give the card dimension I added foam strips to the back of my die cut pieces and attached them to my card front. In my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment, again using VersaFine Clair ink in Blue Belle.

For finishing I added Pinkfresh gems in Ombre which is blue and silver.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed this card.

See you next time.
