Christmas Joy

This is "Christmas Joy".

It is time for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. Our site for today is Decorators Warehouse along with their Pinterest site. I found my inspiration on the Pinterest site.
For my card I am using Altenews Perfect Poinsettia embossing folder, along with Pinkfresh Inks from the Garden Stroll set using the Mint, Meadow and Emerald City. I applied the ink to the embossing folder, then spritzed with water and ran it through my machine.

Once the piece was dry I put down the inks on my glass mat and picked them up with a watercolour brush (bundle).
Using the brush to pick up the inks, I painted in a few areas of the embossing folder. I also painted in the smaller leaves that surround the flowers, which I painted with Nuvo Aqua shimmer in Glitter Gloss. On the smaller leaves I painted on Nuvo Aqua Shimmer in Midas Touch.

My inspiration piece shows white veining but I did not want to cover the green veining that shows so nicely on the card. Maybe next time I will take the time and add the white.

I picked a pale green cardstock for matting the Poinsettia panel, then affixed the piece to a Neenah card base.

For further interest I applied splatters using the Media Touch aqua shimmer.  Using my Gemini Jr. I die cut the Joy edger die from 3 pieces of white card and one piece of the pale green piece and glued them together with the pale green piece on the top. It did not show up well enough on the background so using a Copic marker in G05 I coloured over the word.

To finish I applied a few Studio Katia gold gems.

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you have enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it.

See you next time.
