Eggshell Art

I have something a little different to share with you today. This is Eggshell Art and seems so fitting for a person like myself, that I had to make one.

It is made with regular household eggs that I emptied and used for breakfast, then I cleaned the inside of the shells ensuring to remove all the membrance, and cracked then shaped somewhat!
Once that part was done, with drying times in between I applied alcohol ink to the centre of the egg along with a drop of blending solution and swirled it around inside the eggshell.

For other pieces I painted on blending solution, then added the alcohol ink with a brush, such as the small flatter pieces. I set everything aside and let it dry overnight.
The next morning I sprayed the eggs with a mixture of gold perfect pearls and let that dry unti late in the afternoon, then sprayed the eggs with Krylon Crystal Clear transparent spray, spraying both sides and allowing to dry overnight.

To put it all together I embossed a piece of pale green cardstock using Creative Expressions Fanciful Flowers embossing folder, which is a large folder.
I attached the embossed paper to the back of the matting, then proceeded to glue the shells in place. For that I used Glossy Accents, which is ultra strong. Not that the eggs are heavy, I wanted to ensure they would stay in place.

Finishing I put the frame together and have already hung it on my wall. This wall in my craft room had a tall glass and brass cabinet on it previously which was not working for me. I bought another dresser style piece with 9 drawers for this wall, so it opened up the top for a bit more Art!

The above is the wall as it now is, soon to have a few things added. The piece on the right side is an Art piece done by Dina Kowal, whom I know from Splitcoaststampers.com. She does beautiful work and I had to have a bird of course!

Birds and eggshells, seems fitting to me.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you are inspired to do some wall Art for your home.
