Happy Plaid Autumn Season

This is "Happy Autumn Season".

When I saw this die by Tim Holtz/Sizzix it was one of those have to have, so in the basket it went. I love plaids, and that means all plaids, stencils, dies, and stamps. But this die, it is awesome.
I saved it for today as I am collecting a new brand of ink, from a relatively new Company called Pigment Ink Co. There are 21 ink pads presently, and because of this I ordered all of them. They are dye inks, so all the properties we love about dye inks can be done with these inks.

Why I fell for them is the colour palette. Something totally different from what I have, with a bit of a modern twist.
You can see the inks at work on this card, stunning is what I would call them! The background die is done from bottom up with Balsam, Monstera and Lagoon; the top die is done from bottom up with Himakayan, Medina and Blush.

On the pine branch I used Jade, Lagoon and Ficus. For the leaf I used Seagrass, Quince and Terra Cotta.
I attached the fir and leaf using foam squares, then added a few enamel dots for a bit of bling. The Tim Holtz set comes with a full size die, that cuts a piece just slightly larger than the plaid dies. It is white and is attached to the plaid dies in the background, then attached to my card base.

For the inside of the card I used the die that is on the top on the front, attaching it to a white piece of Hammermill cardstock that is slightly larger, as discussed above. I then applied Quince over the entire cut, and added a sentiment stamped on a piece of white card using the Ficus again. You can see parts of the inside in the picture below, which also shows some of the distressing I did as well.
The sentiment on the front was also stamped in my mini Misti using the Ficus and attached with Nuvo adhesive to the leaf, with foam dots used along the sentiment strip.

The ink pads are the new foam pads that are being used today. They will take me time to get used to, but I am happy that they are not too juicy, so I did not make any messes doing this card. Yay me!

Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed this card, as much as I enjoyed making it. And I hope you enjoyed seeing these new inks I picked.
