White Flower

This is "White Flower".

This is our challenge for Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers.com. The video we watched can be found here.
I drew out the flowers on Arches cold press watercolour paper, and when I got one leaf right I copied it for the rest, keeping my pencil lines very light.

The colours I used are Rose of Ultramarine, Phthalo Blue (Red Shade), Buff Titanium and Naples Yellow. For the splatter I used White watercolour, and for the leaf outline and stems I used Kuretake Red Gold.
When the piece was dry I splattered with a bit of the white watercolour, then put my finger in it to shade it a bit. I again waited for it all to try before doing proper splatters.

Once the splatters were dry I added the gold to the petals and drew in the leaves.
I found it easiest to keep the entire piece wet while I painted, wet on wet they call it, which is what I did for this card.

Once I was finished with the painting I matted the piece using a blue cardstock, then attached the piece to an Ivory card base.
I am happy with the way this turned out and I hope you have enjoyed it as well. I thank you for visiting today, and will see you next time.
