Poppies

Introducing "Poppies".

When I started this card I did not have a plan. I decided I would colour the Poppies and see how I felt after that.

To start my colouring process, in my Misti I stamped the image using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. I then began to use my Copic markers to colour as follows: Background of stamp done using BG11, BG32, BG13; Poppies are R08, R24, R17; Centre of Poppy BG78; Leaves are YG13, YG07 and YG09.
I wanted the image cut out and as this image does not come with dies, I used my Scan'n Cut to cut around the image.

It was then that I decided to design the card in a eclectic style and I would use stencils to achieve the look I wanted.
For my pattern play I opted to use the same stencil, changing up the position of the stencil for each colour. On my card base I used Mowed Lawn, along with A Colorful Life Design stencil Simple Grid. For the next layer I used Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina, which I added to the card.

Using pieces included in the stamp set, I stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne on the blue Simple Grid piece.
I tied twine (from the Dollar Store) around the card three (3) times and tied a bow, then added foam tape to the back of the stamped image before attaching to my card.

On the inside I did the same design with the green on the bottom and the blues on top, then stamped the sentiment, "You brighten my Day" which is included in the set, using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.
Making this card did brighten my day, and as I made it for a friend I hope it brightens her day too.

Thank you all for joining me today. Following are Affiliate links for the products I used for this card at no extra cost to you.
