Knowing you

This is "Knowing you".

In my series of cards using A Colorful Life Design stencils. For my post the week of May 1 to May 7th I am using the same stencil, just different ways of using the stencil.
Today I am using Elegant Writers to colour the stencil. They are black caligraphy pens and when the ink is touched with water one gets a variation of colours, from greens, blues violet and the pinks.

Yes, what I did is somewhat time consuming, tracing the open spaces of the stencil to transfer the design to Arches coldpress watercolour paper. But the results were so worth the effort.
I love how the inks played with the pattern of the stencil, and how it really shows off the beauty of the stencil.

To attach my watercolour piece to the matting piece I used foam tape, then attached the panels to my card base using Scor-pal tape.

I found this sentiment which I had done along time ago and never used in my stash, so I attached it to some pink cardstock and attached it with glue and a staple to my card.
I continued to play with the pens and made the following card using the same technique, however this time much more colour appeared. So fun to have this happen, and again, and just love how it shows off the stencil!
I think it makes for a cute card for sure. I paired it with some little birdies that to me looked so like the birds in the stencil, but unfortunately they are now discontinued.

However, like me, I am sure most people hang on to things they love, and continue to use them.
For this cutie I paired the watercolour panel with a lighter pink matting and coloured the die cut letters using Copic markers before gluing on with Nuvo glue.

The little birdies were from Picket Fence Designs, and I still love them. I used both the stamps and coordinating dies and propped them up on foam squares across the top of the panel.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed this post today. Following are Affiliate links for the products that I have used for these cards, at no extra expense to you.
