I have two cards to share with you today which I have done for Scrap'n Stamps' Day 21 Random Act of Cardness event. Today's prompt word is "Dies".
I decided to use this die from Tim Holtz called "Flower Field".
For my first card I die cut a piece of Arches cold press watercolour paper using my Gemini Jr. along with the metal shim, which gives a clean cut.
I then proceeded to watercolour using Daniel Smith dot card along with a few colours from the Ultimate Mixing Set. I painted using colours found in the garden across the street from me, where they have bushes along with flowers in mostly red and oranges with a pop of yellow.
I added the Wilted Violet to my garden with touches of Chromium Cerulean Blue.
The background is a watercolour wash using Ultramarine Blue and Quinacridone Rose dropped in. Once finished in my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Blue Belle.
For my second card I used a Tim Holtz stencil for the background, doing a rainbow look with distress oxide inks.
Where the card meets the continuation of the stencil I added the pink glitter ribbon.
I decided on a silhouette die cut, so I die cut using a watercolour black cardstock, which is very sturdy for an intricate die cut.
As I mentioned, I also used my steel plate when die cutting.
This is only one die, and it can be used so many different ways, all of which would make beautiful cards.
