Bee's Knees

Meet "Bee's Knees".

This is another one of those cards that give me a good giggle while I am making it. The colours, and that adorable bee, makes it so easy to smile.
I started with the hexagons where I die cut using Neenah card. I then put down colours in the following order: Cracked Pistachio, Saltwater Taffy, Squeezed Lemonade.

When all were very dry, I added bits of Abandoned Coral.
For the colour I spritzed lightly with water, then dragged the broken up hexagon pieces through the colours.

To put the hexagons together I glued down the largest hexagon on the left side, then one down and glued down the 2nd largest hexagon for the middle, and the third row back to the largest hexagon.
The hexagon's on the right side side I measured to line them up with the hexagon's on the left side and glued in place.

In my mini Misti I stamped the bee using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and proceeded to colour the bee using Copic markers. My colours for the bee are Y02, YR02, C3, C5, C7, 100, and B01.

Once I finished with the colouring of the bee I die cut it using the coordinating die. Then using the leftover large hexagon along with the bee I attached foam strips, propping the hexagon and bee up from the background.

To finish I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Warm Breeze and added a scattering of Studio Katia gems.

I pondered for a bit if the bee was too dark, but let that go, bee's are dark!
