Thinking of you

Meet "Thinking of you".

It is Wednesday, which means it is time for Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers.com. This week Linda is our hostess and she has picked a fun video from one of our favourite artist, CreationsCeeCee, where we use different values of the same colour.
I found this interesting. First I did not have a Payne's Grey with any hint of blues, which in my humble opinion would make this a little boring.

So I mixed together Jane's Grey with Prussian Blue for my colours, making three different mixes. I then mixed up Raw Umber with Indian Red for the tree trunk and limbs.

It seems so easy to be able to soften the edges, yet twice my paint dried too fast. Once was because someone came to the door, turned out to be wrong door, and the second was because CC did a fly in and sent everything flying! (I love my bird - I keep telling myself that).
I very much liked the soft pinkish colour that CeeCee used in her painting. I do not have that colour, so I decided I would mix together Pyrrol Scarlett with Quinacridone Coral and a lot of water to get this pinkish colour, which I like very much.

I then added the yellow gold from my Kuretake set of gold watercolours and finished off with connecting tree limbs where necessary. I also touched up some of the other limbs as needed.
To the pinkish areas I added dots using a dark blue gelly roll pen. I was on the fence about further dots, then took a gamble, and now I like it more. I also did some splatters with white watercolour, the prussian blue and Nuvo shimmer pen.

In my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment on Arches cold press card using VersaFine Clair ink and die cut it with the coordinating die from the Honey Bee set.
To put it all together I attached the watercolour card to my dark blue cardbase using foam tape. I then attached the sentiment using foam strips.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed this card today, and hope you will give it a go.
