Thoughts for Ukraine

It is difficult to not think about the people of Ukraine. My card today is done in honour of the people and all they are going through with this war.

I am using the colours of Ukraine with the umbrella, sunshine and rain puddles.
The image was stamped in my mini Misti using Arches cold press watercolour paper along with VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. The watercolours are Daniel Smith.

First up was the watercolouring of the little bunny image. I used some sienna's, brown's, rose and peach for the precious little fellow.
For my card base I made an A2 card from Arches cold press paper. I then placed the top panel over both of the pieces along with the stencil and using watercolour I painted in the lines of the sun.

I kept it as close to the edge of the stencil as I could with my brush, but did not touch the edge to avoid the possible bleeding that could occur.
I then added the puddles to the bottom of the top panel and the shadowing to the left side.

Once all was dry I put the top piece back in my mini Misti and stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Blue Belle.
To finish I added a gem to the top of the umbrella, then attached foam tape to the back of the piece and attached it to my card base, lining up the sun rays.

I thank you for your visit today. I hope you too will keep Ukraine in your thoughts and prayers.
