Alocasia

Hello friends, this is "Alocasia".

This name is actually the name of the embossing folder, but it was so pretty why not use it in my title. For today's card I have used this embossing folder on both sides, give different looks for two different cards.

For both of these cards I am using Arches cold press watercolour paper for the design. The reason for this is I very much love this paper when it is embossed.
I used Distress Oxide spray for the colours. For this card I used Salvaged Patina, Mustard Seed and Cracked Pistachio and spritzed with a mixture of Perfect Pearls and water to blend the colours.

I then die cut the sentiment "friend" from a piece of alcohol ink background that I previously made, then two further layers of white card, gluing them together and attaching to a piece of vellum used for the shadow.
I did not want the foam to show under the vellum, so I traced the friend shadow on to the foam strips and cut it out, peeling away the backing and attaching it to the friend sentiment, then the card.

In my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink and attached with the foam strips, and finished with a few gems.
Moving on to my second card for today, this is the Alocasia folder on the reverse side, and I still love the look it gives with those wonderful layers.

Again I used Distress Oxide sprays in Wild Honey, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Mermaid Lagoon and splatters of Carved Pumpkin and again spritzing with the Perfect Pearls and water..
I added foam tape to the back of the panel and attached it to my Neenah card base using foam tape. I then die cut the letters using the Concord & 9th dies from the same alcohol ink background I used for the card above.

I also die cut two further layers from white card, and glued the layers together with the alcohol ink layer on top, then glued the sentiment to my card base.
I very much like this card without any further embellishments. It is so pretty in real life!
