Happy Hugs

This is "Happy Hugs".

It is always fun to make Valentine cards for girlfriends, and this is one of those for this year. I have water coloured using Kuretake Gansi Tambi Gem watercolours.
I find when painting with these kind of watercolours, the colour is not true and the paint can be faint. To fix this problem I include distress inks in my palette, and mix the watercolour together.

This way I still get the beautiful sparkle the Kuretake Gem colours are known for, along with the deepness in colour that I want for my cards.
For this card I stamped the image using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne and proceeded to watercolour as I mentioned above. I then die cut the piece using the semi circle die then die cut using the Heart Border.

Using the red Kuretake and Barn door I painted the hearts and inserted them back in the piece, leaving the tiny circles empty.
On a pale pink card base using a stencil of hearts I applied Texture Paste in opaque crackle.

I also die cut the hugs sentiment and painted it using the red colours as noted above. Once everything was dry I attached the half circle to the card using foam squares and glued the sentiment on using Nuvo Adhesive.
To finish up I glued on some crystals for a little more bling.

Using these paints I also did this Valentine card, again using the same technique. I hope you have enjoyed these cards and thank you for your visit.
