Joy Stocking

Happy Monday. Meet Joy Stocking!

Any stamp that has birds is a must have in my world and this stamp by Woodware fits the bill perfectly, and is adorable to boot.
This card is for the Random Act of Cardness Series at Scrap'n Stamp. Day 6 is prompt word Sparkle and this card has a lot of Sparkle, even though it does not show up in the pictures.

I stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne, and proceeded to watercolour using Distress Inks. The colours I used for the stocking are Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness, Barn Door and Candied Apple.
Candied Apple and a bit of Aged Mahogany on the clothes pegs, and Brushed Corduroy for the clothes line. The birds are in Speckled Egg at the top, Kitsch Flamingo in the middle and Barn door on the lower right.

Finishing around the image I used Twisted Citron. I also dragged in the red from the stocking to areas around the stocking to add in another colour to the highlighting. That is one of the nice things about painting with distress inks, they bleed easily.
On the fur I used my white Posca Pen to colour and picked up the Speckled Egg colour as well as the Twisted Citron colour while I was adding the white. It is faint but adds more to the fur.

The red dots around the stocking are done using a pink gelly roll pen, and the white on the stocking is also done using a white gelly roll penTo finish up my card I added Glitter Gloss to the areas that have white dots along with the birds backs  for more sparkle, and I die cut the Joy sentiment from red glitter card, gluing down to the card.

I thank you for your visit today. Following are Affiliate links for the products I used for this card, at no extra cost to you.
