Deck the Howls

Deck the Howls! How cute are these little pups? For dog lovers there is nothing better than a Christmas card for the dogs!

I decided I wanted a red and white card to go with my dogs. My card base is Neenah card, and the panel is Tim Holtz Distress White Heavy card. I found it takes the water better than Neenah card does, especially those cards that have a second layer, which this panel does.
I put down my colour and sprayed with a mixture of Sunflower Perfect Pearls and water. You can see the shimmer in the card panel, which I love for Christmas.

I then die cut the circles with my Penny Black dies, which cut the circle and leave the pattern on the outside of the cut. Love these dies for this.
In my mini Misti I stamped the dogs using Memento Ink as I thought I might colour with Copics. But I love the way the dogs look as is, so nixed the colouring of the dogs. I did however colour the Santa Hats using Copics.

For the fur I added clear glitter pen.
This picture shows more of the perfect pearls. To put it together I added the panel to my card base using foam tape. I then inserted the dogs and propped them up on foam squares.

The Santa Hats are also on foam squares, and I hope appear to be hanging off an ear, however in real life that would not happen. But this is fantasy land~lol. In my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment, which is from an older My Favorite Things stamp set, using VersaFine Clair in Tulip Red.
On the inside of the card I used the larger circle die, and did the same ink technique for inside the circle. This panel is also attached using thin strips of foam tape, and the dog is on a foam square. The sentiment is stamped with VersaFine Clair ink in Fantasia.

I failed to mention that the sentiments come from My Favorite Things, and have since been discontinued. You can probably find them somewhere however, the name of the set is Deck the Howls.

Needless to say this card was a lot of fun, and I hope you have enjoyed it as well.
