The View

This is my card for Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers.com. We watched a video by Debby Hughes called Stamping with Watercolours.

This is such a fun process and wonderfully, the results will be different depending on the inks you use.

To do my card I am using a floral stamp and script stamp by Penny Black, and a sentiment stamp by Impression Obsession. My paper is Fabriano Hot Press watercolour card.

The Distress Ink colours I used are Salvaged Patina, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade and Faded Jeans along with VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne for my sentiment.

Following Debby's video, making the background first, then stamping with all the inks. First the flowers, then the script.

I changed it up a bit by spraying with a mix of White Perfect Pearls and water while the background was wet from the spray after the script stamp addition. You can see in a few photos the sparkle.

Once the panel was dry I added foam tape to the back of the card panel. It was easier to do it at this point rather than after the Gouache is added.

I then added colour to some of the flowers and leaves, along with splatters of the inks and splatters of white Gouache.

To finish up I made the sentiment tag using a piece of Fabriano card with the raw edge and using the same colours as I used in my background.

I then stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne, and added splatters of ink and White Gouache.

I love Debby's work. She watercolours frequently and always, her work is beautiful. You can find her blog here.
