I think it is time I share a bit of sweetness with you. How do you feel about Macarons? I love them, the real and this set, the diet kind.
I made this card for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. The site we visited today is from the site of Jan Carolz Pins and her board Hot Air Balloons.
I picked this picture of balloons in beautiful shades of pastel colours. It immediately reminded me of the colours that Macarons are made in, so I went with it.
I started by adding a stencil design to my card base using Salvaged Patina distress oxide ink.
For the macarons I stamped using Memento London Fog and coloured using Copic markers with two colours per cookie. For the centre of the cookies I used E51. The pink is done using R20, R22; the yellow YG05, YG07 and the green is done using Y13, Y23.
I die cut the cookies using the coordinating dies and attached to the card using foam squares.
I then stamped the "sweetest" sentiment in Warm Breeze by VersaFine Clair, die cut with the coordinating die and attached to the card with foam strips.
For the sentiment "You are the" I used white vellum paper and stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.
To finish my card I added a few Studio Katia gems in yellow.
