Abalone Sea

Here it is Friday already. This past week just flew by!

This card I did for the Inspiration Challenge this week, where we admired Surfboards! They were all so beautiful it was hard to pick. I went simple, picking this board.

Using Neenah cardstock I first did the stencilling using A Colorful Life Design stencil along with Distress Oxide inks in three different colours. Once finished I added Nuvo Shimmering Pen to the circles of the stencil.

I then moved on to the Abalone, stamping on Arches cold press watercolour paper using watermark ink and heat embossing using Nuvo Pearl powder.

I then water coloured the Abalone in layers using metallic watercolours in blues and greens and white, with a hint of pink.

Once I finished with the painting I die cut the abalone with the coordinating die, then styled to add dimension and attached to base card using foam squares.

Again using Arches cold press paper I stamped the greenery with Twisted Citron, spritzing slightly before stamping, then die cut and styled attaching to my card using foam squares.

In my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink to finish.

In the picture above you can see the shimmer on the water dots.
