Happy Day

It is a happy day when I get to paint flowers and try out some new to me watercolours.

It is also time for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers, which inspired this card when I saw this beautiful English garden. For this challenge we are visiting the Elle Decor Pinterest page where there is much to see.

On Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper I stamped the image with VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. Like the Pinterest picture, I used the yellows, oranges, reds, blues, greens and touches of pinks and purples. I did the first layer, let it dry and came back doing a second layer. Once that was dry, using my rake brush I added some turquoise watercolour.

I then added a third layer of colour to the flowers. While still damp I added splatters of gold Perfect Pearls mixed with water and let dry. I mixed up some of the orange watercolour, and some yellow watercolour along with a small amount of the blue watercolour and did more splatters with all three of these colours. And finally, I added white Gouache splatters.

When I buy Fabriano paper I buy it by the sheet, usually 5 sheets at a time. It has been terribly difficult to get during the pandemic, but luckily for me I have had enough to get me by. It is far more economical to buy it by the sheet too!

The reason I am mentioning this is that when I can I like to include the raw edge in my design, which I have done with this card, and my card from Wednesday as well. I really like the look of the raw edge.

Finishing up, I attached my watercolour panel to my card base, which is cut 5 inches wide by 6 inches tall. I then attached Studio Katia crystals and sequins using Nuvo Deluxe adhesive. I then place my card in my Misti and stamped the sentiment first with VersaFine Clair ink in Warm Breeze, then with the Nocturne, which takes down the harshness of the black ink.

Thanks so much for dropping by today. Following are Affiliate links for the products I used for this card, at no extra cost to you. I thank you for your support.
