I have been so busy I did not have time to make a card for my blog. But this design came to me while in bed watching TV the other night. Usually I forget about it by morning, but this time it stuck with me.

I started my card by doing the background first, or should I say I did the card base front first. With the stencil in place I added Distress Glaze, which acts like a resist. It took about an hour or so to dry, so I needed to do this first.

Today I am using Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper. I stamped the paint brush using Distress Ink in Antique Linen and proceeded to watercolour using some Daniel Smith watercolours. To finish the brush I added the background colour to the brush part of the stamp, and with my rake paint brush I added the Salvaged Patina Spray paint colour, like I was painting the wall.

Using a part of the Wake Up Stamp I stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I then matted the piece with a moss green card.

To finish up the card base, once the glaze was dry I sprayed the front with the Oxide Spray in the Salvaged Patina. I gave that time to dry, then buffed the front with a soft cloth to remove the left over glaze, and this also adds shine to the card front. Not a lot, but noticeable.

I added foam tape to the back of the paint brush panel and attached it to the card front. I then added a few gems for sparkle. I thought about some splatter, but then thought I could easily cover up the paint brush with too much, so I nixed that idea.

This was another one of those cards where it was such fun to do. This stamp is so cute, and easy to design around too.
