I spent some time yesterday painting this sweet Penny Black image. You all know I love birds, and I love to paint them too. I first stamped the image on Arches cold press paper using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne, then water coloured using Daniel Smith watercolours in greens, turquoise, cobalt, yellows and reds.

Once I was finished painting the birds I ran the image through my Scan'n Cut to "fussy cut" them out for me.

Before I did the watercolour I did some smooshing on my card base, which is Neenah 110lb. using Distress Oxide in Tumbled Glass. I did a couple of layers, letting the card dry in between each.

Once the card base was dry I added splatters using both the Cobalt and Amazonite Genuine along with gold perfect pearls for shimmer. I also splattered with Midas Touch Shimmering pen.

I then die cut the geometric circles die in the white card and attached it to the card front using foam squares which I hid behind the other solid pieces of the birds and banner.

I stamped the sentiment in my mini Misti using VersaFine Clair ink in Blue Belle and die cut it out with a sentiment banner die.

For a bit more sparkle I die cut the dragonfly pieces using silver and gold glitter card and glued them to the card using Nuvo Adhesive. I think they look so cute. Following is a close up picture of the card showing the birds better.

It is a dull day here so photographing required me using my studio lights and that causes shadows from the geometric die. There is always something ... lol.
