Very Merry

As it happens the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers this week gave me the opportunity to use my Santa Hat again. Yip!

We visited a place called Hello Lucky where I found loads of inspiration. I picked this for inspiration.

My card base is Neenah Solar White Classic Crest cardstock. for my background I am using Manger Stars from A Colorful Life Designs. I secured the stencil using tape and applied embossing paste in Pearlescent.

The paste dries very quickly, less than 15 minutes so I began to apply my colour. Using distress oxide inks I added the colours, blending well after each addition, then blending again with the original colour.

The blues I used are Blueprint Sketch and Salty Ocean. Initially I used Wilted Violet, but then I went back in and added Seedless Preserves to an area. I like the look better.

I let the inks dry, then did some splatters in white using Dr. Ph. Martins Bleed Proof white. I then added some Perfect Pearls to the mix of white paint, and did further splatters.

Still needed sparkle so I also added straight perfect pearls. It is so hard to pick up the shimmer when photographing, but in real life it is very pretty.

I then stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink and went around the edges with the distress oxide Salty Ocean, attaching with foam squares.

The Santa Hat I die cut from both white and red glitter cardstock, styling the pieces then applying the red part with foam squares, and gluing on the white, representing the fur.

It still needed more sparkle for me, so I die cut a few stars from the white glitter cardstock and applied them around the card. I then added some little diamond gems and finally was happy.

Another fun card ready for Christmas, which I hope you have enjoyed.

Thank you for visiting with me today. I have attached Affiliate links for the products I used for this card, at no extra cost to you.
