Santa Deer

I am happy to say I am now a hostess and design team member for one of my favourite challenges, the  Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. My term does not start until December 1st, but I got a jump on things with this card.

We are visiting a wonderful site called Traditions. I headed for the Santa/Reindeer department and found this Santa and Reindeer that I just love.

I love the colours, and decided I could incorporate this blue shade in my scene, just in another way. I used a darker shade of the blue for my trees in the background, stamping a few times to get them very dark. I used colours very close to the above in my reindeer's scarf.

Santa's suit I kept in the red and white. For the white I used my gel pen colouring in circles to add some texture to the fur. His boots are black, matching the tiny piece of his belt that shows. I added white gel pen for some definition.

For his face I used Copics in E41 and E51. I added R20 to his cheeks for a bit of rosy. For the deer I used E23, E35, E37, along with E51 in his ear with R20 over it. His nose has R35 and R46. His antlers are E37 as are his hooves. On the scarf I used BG11 and BG34.

I thoroughly enjoyed colouring this image ... it is adorable even before it is coloured.

Once I was finished with all the colouring I die cut the image using the coordinating die.

In my mini Misti I stamped the trees on my card base using VersaFine Clair ink in Warm Breeze, stamping several times as I mentioned above. I then used my Nuvo Glitter Gloss pen on the largest of the dots of snow, which unfortunately does not show in the pictures. I also added it to Rudolph's nose.

I then added the Santa image to my card base using foam squares, then stamped the sentiment in my mini Misti with the Warm Breeze ink.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you have enjoyed today's card.
