The Pumpkin Patch

I am having a bit of fun today with all things Pumpkin.

I am also playing with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers where we had a visit to another fabric store called Fat Quarter Shop. I picked this fabric for my inspiration piece. As this will no doubt run out I am loading the picture as well so I don't end up with a broken link.

I started with my stencil background using a stencil from A Colorful Life called Pumpkins. It is such a cute stencil and I had a lot of fun colouring it. I used Distress Inks in Spiced Marmalade then Carved Pumpkin using my Life Changing Brushes.

I then added highlights and shading with my Prismacolor Pencils using PC1082 Chocolate and PC946 Dark Brown on the Pumpkin Stem. On the Pumpkins I used PC1032 Orange, then blended with Zest Blending Sponge and Solution using my Stumps.

Once all the pumpkins were complete, using a rake paintbrush I added blades of grass under each pumpkin with Twisted Citron Distress Ink. I then attached the pumpkin piece to my Coral cardbase.

Using Penny Black's Garden Branch Frame I die cut from cardstock and a piece of vellum. Using Vellum tape I attached the inside piece of the vellum including the frame to my cardbase. I coloured the cardstock frame with the brown Copics, then glued on to the vellum frame. There is height in the vellum as it is heavy vellum, so I did not feel I needed two cut from cardstock.

I then stamped the Pumpkin from Taylored Expressions using Distress Ink in Carved Pumpkin so as to have a no line pumpkin. I then coloured with Copics in YR04, Y38 and YR68 as well as using my Prismacolor Pencil PC1032 Orange. As the colouring ended up hiding the face I stamped just the face using VersaFine Clair ink in Pinecone.

To finish off my card I added grass behind the stamped pumpkin using the Twisted Citron and Rake paint brush, along with adding grass with my Copic Markers in YG06 and YG17. I then attached the pumpkin using foam squares.

I had quite a bit of fun making this card today and I hope you enjoy it as well.
