Fall Eucalyptus

Playing along with the Inspiration Challenge today at Splitcoaststampers. The site we visited had an array of everything possible for Halloween, and interestingly they have a Canadian site as well.

I am not one for normally doing Halloween cards ... I think it is my age! lol So as I was looking through everything when I saw the following, I decided that was a go.

Giggles, not what you thought I suspect. I wanted to use this new to me stamp set from Sugar Pea Designs, and this was the closest thing I could find to branches/leaves on the site.

First I die cut Arches Cold Press watercolour paper using my stitched rectangle die and placed it in my mini Misti. The stamp set comes with 2 branches and a wreath. For my card today I decided to use the branches. In my mini Misti I arranged the middle stamp and painted it with my watercolour, spritzed and stamped, then pulled some of the watercolour out.

I masked off the centre branch, then did the same technique with the branches for the left and right sides. Adding pigment to my stamp, spritzing and stamping, then spreading the watercolour. Once all my watercolour was completed I let the piece dry before stamping the sentiment in my mini Misti using VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne.

I then painted the branches with Pearlescent Shimmer and splattered with Nuvo Midas Touch Shimmering Pen.

To finish my card I matted with black cardstock and attached to an Ivory card base.

It is always hard to capture the shimmer on cards, but I think this last picture shows it best.
