Blue Flower

I did not have a lot of time today, but as it is Saturday I wanted to participate in the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. There are always such great places they find for those joining in.

I picked a beautiful flower that looks like velvet on black here. It is quite dark, but I kept mine on the lighter side.

I cut a piece of Gina K. Design Black Onyx cardstock to 4 x 5.25 inches, then stuck it to my stay-tion with rolled up tape. I then placed the stencil over the cardstock and taped it down. I don't usually use tape when using my stay-tion but this is a delicate stencil, so it was a good idea.

Using several colours of distress oxide inks and my Life Changing Brushes I proceeded to apply the inks. First I did a base layer with Tumbled Glass, then added the other colours as I went.

Once the stencilling was done I dried the inks before adding Glitter Glass to the flower part in the bottom left of the card. I did it with wisps so to not have any clumps of shine.

I attached the stencilled piece to a black cardbase.

On a piece of the black cardstock I applied ink to paper VersaMark Embossing Ink, big enough that I would be able to die cut the hello die out. I then heat embossed and die cut, along with 2 other black die cuts and glued them together using Nuvo Adhesive with the embossed piece on the top, then glued to my card. I did not like some of the tiny round silver pieces in the sentiment so I picked them out, leaving pieces of black showing.

I enjoyed making this card, and it did not take long being as I was pressed for time. Love it when a card goes according to plan.
