Triumph Tulips

It is Saturday and that means it is time for my card for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

We had a visit to a beautiful gardening site called American Meadows. For my inspiration I picked a Tulip, yes the Triumph Tulip.

I loved the soft colours of this Tulip and I wanted to try and create it using my Copic Markers.

I am using Waffle Flowers Tulips and have stamped them in Memento Ink Tuxedo Black. For the tulips I used YG00, then Y13 around edges and tips, R20 and R12 for the pink portions. On the stems I used YG00, YG03, YG07 and YG17.. I am very happy with how they turned out.

For my background I die cut my cardstock using Penny Blacks Stitched Stackers die then sponged on a layer of Squeezed Lemonade. The reason for picking the squeezed lemonade for my base layer is due to the green undertone in the Squeezed Lemonade, which is in the flowers as well and this adds that to my sponged background. I then went over the squeezed lemonade with Ink on 3 Atelier Ink in Bee Sting Yellow.

I then spritzed the piece with Perfect Pearls and added splatters from my Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen to give some sparkle. I also painted some on the tulips, which shows up a bit in the following picture.

Once finished I dried the piece with my heat gun, then attached it to my white card base. I then styled and attached the tulips using foam squares and stamped my sentiment, which is from another set by Waffle Flower called Potted Lily, using VersaFine Clair in Nocturne.

I hope you have enjoyed this card and my process and wish to thank you for visiting today. Following are Affiliate Links to the products that I have used for this card, at no additional cost to you.
