Fern Wishes

I am participating in the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers today. We visited a wonderful site called  Brown Paper Bag  which is full of inspiration.  My card today was inspired by this beautiful (meaning wish I had it) leaf.

I used a stencil from A Colorful Life called Big Fonds, which reminded somewhat of this leaf. I sponged on the three colours of Distress Oxide Inks starting with the amber, then the citron and finally the mowed lawn.  I then die cut the panel with my Penny Black die.

For the matting I die cut a piece of Neenah card stock using the Penny Black die again, and sponged on the Twisted Citron. I then attached the panels together and attached to my card base.

For the butterfly, in my mini Misti I stamped the butterfly on Neenah card stock and heat embossed using Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powder in the yellow. I then sponged on some of the mowed lawn and die cut the butterfly. To finish I added a bit of Wink of Stella.

I placed the butterfly on my card front and in my mini Misti I stamped the "sending" using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. I die cut the "wishes" sentiment, sponged on some of the mowed lawn, then turned it over in my Nocturne ink pad.  In real life you can see the hint of the mowed lawn.  I then glued on the butterfly using Nuvo Adhesive.
