Reserved Valentine

This adorable image is from Penny Black, and is called Space Reserved. Doesn't this have you smiling?

Before I go any further, for my Canadian viewers I have some information to share. US viewers can skip the following paragraph and go on to the details below the picture.

I painted using my water colour palette. I have a mix of paints in my palette, which consists of 48 half pans of colour, which include Daniel Smith, Schmincke, Winsor Newton and a DaVinci, a green, that I used today. I have another palette of 18 half pans that I use when I attend classes, which has all Winsor Newton Professional Artists paints. I buy when I fall in love with the colour and I know I will use it. Water colour in Canada is very expensive and shipping is prohibitive in many cases. Buying in the USA is no longer an option with the exchange rates and duties. For me to buy Daniel Smith Opera Pink, which is manufactured in the USA, a 5ml tube would be in the $12.00 Cdn area. I can travel across the border to Blick's, but paying the tolls there and back has to be considered, and the price is still prohibitive due to the exchange rate. Also, Schmincke water colours are expensive in the USA as they are imported from the UK. Hence, I buy my paints from Jackson's Art Supplies in the UK, where a 5ml tube of Opera Pink costs $8.79 Cdn, and shipping is very very reasonable.  I have an ongoing "Wish" list at Jackson's and I can highly recommed them. They have excellent shipping times and rates and excellent customer service. For this purpose, I have included in the Canadian links below, linking to Jackson's Art Supplies.
Back to my card. I wanted to keep the bear on the lighter side as I wanted the bench to be a red/brown shade. I very much like the look of the lighter bear against the darker bench. I used Raw Sienna and Burnt Umber on the Bear, which I watered down. For the bench I used Burnt Umber and Indian Red, and for the grass I used Sap Green and Leaf Green. The background is done in Manganese Blue. The little sign has touches of Payne's Grey.
I then stamped the butterfly, using Helio Turquoise for colour, and painted the balloons using Opera Pink. I stamped a second balloon which I fussy cut, adding Wink of Stella to both balloons, and attached using foam squares. I changed my design at this point, which can be seen in the video. I cut the image, added fun foam to the back and matted with a hot pink card stock.
I then stencilled the card base with MFT Lots of Hearts Stencil and Distress ink in Picked Raspberry, then put the card together.

I hope you have enjoyed this card today. I have done a video showing the details.
