Moving on to more of what I made for today.
Along with the treat mugs above, I made these co-ordinating cards.
The design is the same for all three (3) cards, the only difference is the papers I used and the colours of the inks. For the cards, I used the tag die along with the sweet heart die Straight from the Heart, that is free at My Favorite Things with a $60.00 purchase, before taxes and shipping, while supplies last.
The tags are attached to the card base with fun foam, as are the hearts.
The fox is actually a tag, with sentiments on the back as shown below.

When it came time for the chocolates, I had a bit of a problem. It is almost impossible to get Hershey Nuggets in Canada, unless one wants to pay a fortune.
I was not going to let that stop me however, so I bought Hershey Mini bars and melted them down, using the MFT Shaker Pouches to form a mold. I had to do a bit of trimming once they were set. I ran into another problem with the gold foil ... I had to buy enough for 10 years! So I went looking for chocolate bars to unwrap. They are not the same as they once were either, so I ended up with three (3) Ferrero Rocher bars which I unwrapped, promptly eating the nine (9) chocolates. I ironed the wrap, and trimmed it to use for my little bars. My bars are a bit thicker than the ones that can be bought, so I attached them to the tag using foam dots. I hope you have enjoyed my projects for today, and I am sure the people I will give them to will enjoy them as well.

ReplyDeleteI have to say you were pretty clever to use the pouches for molds for your nuggets, a fantastic idea! I too am in Canada (N.S.) and haven't looked for the nuggets yet but suspect I will have a similar time to find them as you did. (BTW, after all of that work you deserved all 9 of those chocolates! LOL)
