A Note of Thanks

This card is for today's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers, which took us to a beautiful store called Brit & Co. There was a lot of inspiration at this site, but I finally settled on this picture, picking the colours for my inspiration.

I did this by using Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks and the new Tim Holtz Alcohol Lift-Ink, and I have to say, I truly love the look.
It is an easy process. Make your alcohol ink background, let it dry, then stamp the alcohol piece using the lift ink and re-stamp on white card stock, or it could even be colour card stock assuming it would enhance the look. I will do that and post it sometime next week.

To do my alcohol background I used Tim Holtz Valencia, Sunset Orange and Butterscotch, along with blending solution. I also use Tim Holtz Distress Marker Spritzer, as I find it easier to move the inks than blowing through a straw.

Once my background was dry I used Penny Black's Effugent stamp for my impression, inking up my stamp well then stamping on the alcohol ink background, then stamping immediately on my white card base.

I was amazed at how beautiful it looked, and I felt all it needed was a sentiment. I picked Penny Black's Sentiment Collection set to use, stamping with Ranger Sepia Ink.
For the inside of my card, I die cut the alcohol ink panel with my stitched die and stamped another verse using Simon Says Stamp Loving Heart Stamp Set and the Sepia Ink. The trick here is giving it long enough to dry before closing the card.
Needless to say I am very happy with the outcome and I will be doing this technique again very soon.
Thank you for visiting today ...
