Fun Day

This is a "new to me" stamp set by Altenew, called Way to Sweet, and it is ever so cute.
I needed to make a sample card for a design team that I am on that featured something you would take on a picnic. Well, in my basket, that would be muffins of almost any kind.
The frame stamp and frame die set are also new to me. I used the pretty oval frame the other day, and the large frame last week, so today it is the smaller rectangle.
For this card I knew I would be using the frame and the muffin, but I wanted something for the background. I thought about circles of different sizes and the only stencil I had to use was a larger stencil at 8.5x8.5 by Donna Downey called Bubbles. As I wanted the bubbles within the frame, this turned out to be perfect as there is an area on the stencil that was perfect for my needs. I placed my die cut frame where I wanted it to be on my Neenah card base and proceeded to sponge on the spiced marmalade, then added touches of carved pumpkin. I then painted the circles with clear Wink of Stella for some sparkle. Next I cut a frame from Neenah cardstock for the bottom frame and attached with thin foam squares. I cut another frame from the distressed watercolour paper and stamped the frame image using white embossing powder. I gave the frame a quick go over with the Spiced Marmalade distress ink, then attached to the bottom frame using foam squares. I stamped the muffin and as I wanted just the muffin and no edging I fussy cut it out, styled it and attached using a foam square, adding a Wink of Stella to the topping. I stamped the candies and the cherry using the distress watercolour paper and fussy cut these as well and also styled before attaching. I coloured the cherry with my distress markers in citron and the candied apple. For the candies I first painted using the distress inks, but I found the colours somewhat dull for the look I wanted, so I got out my water colours and painted using the Transparent Orange and Indian Yellow.
To finish I stamped the sentiment using Ranger Archival ink in the Monarch Orange.
I hope you enjoyed this card and thank you for visiting my blog.
