I am up on the My Sweet Petunia blog today with this card. I am a bird lover, as most know, so I could not resist this set from Clearly Besotted called Some Birdie Loves You.
The panel of this card is done using a smooshing technique along with a bit of tap dancing, meaning I tapped the paper into the inks. I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Lemonade, Picked Raspberry and Ripe Persimmon. Once dry I die cut using my wonky rectangles die then flicked the panel with yellow acrylic paint.
In my mini Misti I proceed to stamp the images I wanted to use. I stamped the bird twice, and the leaves three times. The reason for this is that I would paint them differently then pick the ones I liked the best to use on my card. I did not move the stamps to do this, I simply moved the paper in my Misti for this. I then proceeded to colour using Zig Clean Color Brushes to paint. Once finished I fussy cut the images and styled them to use.
I die cut the stacked heart and dragged it through some Lemonade ink and water before attaching to my panel, then attached all the my card base using foam tape. I then added the birds with foam dots, sitting them on the top of a heart for their perch, then added the leaves to the corner, and treated the flowers like sequins.
It was then I realized I had not stamped my sentiment - ack! Back in my Misti my card went where I stamped the sentiment using Ripe Persimmon Ink. I did several passes with the ink, as under the panel is hallow. It stamped perfectly, except for a bit at the top of the "t and h" in "the", so I touched those up with my distress marker.
This is a closeup of the card which shows the colours and the acrylic paint a bit better.
I clearly had a lot of fun making this card and I hope you enjoy it as well.
I did this video showing how I did this card. I hope you enjoy the video and if you do give it a thumbs up.
Thanks so much for visiting.
