Floral thanks

I think all the bitter cold and snow has me longing for spring, which is unusual for me as I do enjoy the winter.

So today's card is made with whole lot of wishful thinking. This stamp set is new to me sort of. I have had it for several months now, but have only now had the opportunity to play with it. I love this flower from the set and decided I would make this my focal.

I began my background by first stamping the stem using Altenew ink Lagoon and heat set, then did the watercolour background using Altenew Inks Volcano Lake and distress ink Shabby Shutters. While it was drying I stamped the flower, also using watercolour paper with Altenew ink in Coral Berry. I heat set the ink so I could watercolour, using the berry and distress inks in worn lipstick with a touch of festive berries. I went back to the stem and using Tim Holtz Distress markers added some shabby shutters and a bit of cracked pistachio. I then splattered using Daniel Smith Phthalo Green full strength along with some watered down. I stamped the sentiment using Altenew Lagoon and attached the panel to my card base with foam tape. I die cut and styled the flower slightly before attaching with foam dots. And, yes, a few sequins finished my card.

Thanks so much for visiting and thank you for all your support through 2017.
