Bell of Peace

This is Bell of Peace, and the first time I have inked up this new image.

To do this and using my Misti for this process, I coloured my stamp in stages with the base colours I wanted to use and dry stamped my paper starting with the leaves and berries. The purpose was to get the outline, but I did not want water added to the stamp as I wanted to watercolour as I went, which I did using different colours adding layers as I went. Once I was finished with the leaves and berries, I did the bell the same way. When all was dry I did the wash background by mixing up Blueprint Sketch and Peeled Paint distress inks. I added the acrylic paint and Winsor Newton Sepia flicks of paint once dry, then stamped my sentiment using intense black ink. I attached my panel to my card base using foam tape, and finished with a few clear sequins.

I am very happy with the outcome, and enjoyed painting this image.
Thank you for visiting today.

  1. Kia, This is a lovely card with great depth, color range and feeling. I love it!

  2. Kia,
Your cars is lovely. The color range is perfect.

  3. I had seen this stamp used by the Penny Black DT several times and your's is colored beautifully. Love the variation in the leaves. I did not buy this stamp because I knew I couldn't do it any justice, but you did such a great job with it!

  4. Oh my, I'm getting confused when and where I've commented...hehe! Anyway, Kia, this is GORGEOUS! I love this stamp, and you've truly done an amazing job of watercoloring (of course you always do). But the shading is perfect, and what a stunning watercolor background. I LOVE the hints of change and variation...subtle but truly gorgeous! I LOVE LOVE this card!! Hugs, sweet friend! xoxo
