Daisy Day

Blue is the colour for my card today.

These spring daisy flowers from Altenew are one of my favourite stamp sets, yet this is only the second time I have used it. Normally I would go to the yellow family to do this kind of card, but I wanted to change it up for this card, so we are seeing blue today. The inspiration for this card comes from Jennifer McGuire where she does a split colouring technique using Copic Markers. I don't have Copic Markers, and normally I would do this using my watercolours or Prisma Pencils, but I wanted a bit of a change for today.

I started by setting my card up in my MISTI. I
started with the largest flower from the set and stamped
both the white and blue cardstock using
the persian blue. I then masked off the large flower and stamped the smaller flower, then added in the
leaf and the bud. Starting again with the larger
flower, I inked up the second layer of the flower
using caribbean sky ink. Again, masking the larger
flower, I stamped the second layer of the flower
this time using the persian blue, and did the same
for the leaf.  I cut the blue panel about 1.25" from
the bottom and attached to my white card base. I
cut a 3/8" piece of blue cardstock and attached
under the blue, then stamped my sentiment using white pigment ink.  I then added the white to
the centre of the flowers with my Uni-ball
Signo Pen, and finished with a few sequins.

I hope you enjoy this card today, and thank you
for visiting my blog.
