Wedding Day WIshes

It is almost summer and the wedding's are
underway for 2017.
I wasn't sure where I was going when I started this card,
which is so often the case. When someone needs a card and they leave it up to me to design, I sort of wing it and design it as I go. In thinking of weddings though, I thought of the outdoor pictures, and flowers and lattice, and on I go. I began by die cutting the stitched rectangle and stencilling the lattice using Nuvo Embellishment Mouse in Spring Green,
then set it aside to dry.
I stamped the flower and leaves on watercolour paper and heat embossed with white embossing powder, and water coloured using Zig Brushes.
I attached the lattice panel to my card base using foam strips.
I then styled the flower and leaves and arranged them on the lattice panel, attaching on foam dots.
I never seem to know where I will stamp my sentiment until the end, and today was not any different. As I was going to be stamping partially on the mouse, I place the card in my Misti and stamped in intense black ink several times until I was happy with the results. Even though I stamped about 5 times, I still touched up the sentiment with a black fine line sharpie where I could still see the lattice. And, as weddings need a bit of sparkle, I added Wink of Stella to the flower centre along with a few clear sequins scattered around the card.
Thank you for visiting my blog .... I will see you
next time.

  1. Your lattice stenciling is so perfect I thought it was a partial die. And that flower looks like something premade by Anna Griffin......your work is amazing Kia.

  5. Gorgeous card, Kia! Love your lattice with the green background. Perfect backdrop for your beautiful watercoloured flower and leaves. I thought you had done them on vellum ... they are so soft and delicate, but see that you used watercolour paper. Great job!! xx
