Sunshine for you

The Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers today takes us on a tour of The Cake Blog. Cakes for all occasions ... I dare say I would love a nibble of one or two! I picked this cake for my inspiration. These colours just stood out to me and I thought a little bit of sunshine would be nice given it is snowing here. For my card, I first embossed my card base with Ecstasy Crafts Roses embossing folder. For my panel I inked my stamp with Tim Holtz Mustard Seed and Wild Honey and spritzed with water before stamping. I then embossed the panel with my Distressed Stripes Embossing Folder and then added more inks with my aqua brush to get deeper colours. For my flower I mixed the two colours together on my craft sheet and spritzed lightly with water then dragged my flower through it, and again used my aqua brush to add more colour. I then styled my rose and spritzed heavily with Glimmer Mist - and I love the results. I die cut my sentiments and sponged on the Wild Honey mixed with a light dab of Gathered Twigs. I added several layers to get the colour the way I wanted it to look. The panel is mounted on fun foam so I could have coverage across the entire piece. A few sequins finished my card. I hope you like it ...
