Christmas Snowflake

I am hosting this week's Inspiration challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com, and have picked the site Tattertots and Jello for our inspiration. They also have a Pinterest page, with my Inspiration coming from this pin.

This beautiful snowflake is by Colorado Craft Company and called Warm Wishes Snowflake. I have had it for a few years, and every year I make a card using this stamp, which I love. This year I decided I would keep it Clean and Simple and water colour using Prussian Blue watercolour from Daniel Smith watercolours.

I first inked up the stamp using VersaMark embossing ink and stamped on Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper using white embossing powder, then heat embossed to set.First I added water around the background of the stamped image, then dropped in the Prussian Blue watercolours, allowing the paint to dry between coats, of which I did three.

Once the piece dried completely I added Art Glitter glue to the back and attached it to a 5.5" square card in royal blue.
In my original Misti I stamped the sentiment, which is included in the set, using VersaFine Clair Ink in Blue Belle and stamping on Arches Cold Press paper.

I then added the royal blue trim around the stamped sentiment. For the inside I cut another piece of Fabriano Hot Press paper and attached it inside, then added tape to block off an area.I painted the area to match the front of the card, then stamped a sentiment from Picket Fence Stamp set "Inside Quotes", again using the Blue Belle ink from VersaFine Clair.

Thanks so much for joining me today.

See you next time.
